Buddy, a young orphan, mistakenly crawls into Santa's bag of gifts and is transported to the North Pole. The would-be elf is raised, unaware that he is actually a human, until his enormous size and poor toy-making abilities cause him to face the truth. With Santa's permission, Buddy embarks on a journey to New York City to find his birth father and discover his true identity. Faced with the harsh realities that his father is on the naughty list and his half-brother doesn't even believe in Santa, Buddy is determined to win over his new family and help New York remember the true meaning of Christmas.

We believe that everyone deserves access to excellent theatre. Even though we work hard to subsidize our costs with grants and donations from generous sponsors, we do still need to charge a ticket price proportional to the high costs of producing professional theatre. That's why we're so excited to offer Thursday Night Rush! Each Thursday we will offer a limited number of $5 rush tickets. Rush tickets are available at the door of Thursday performances starting one hour prior to curtain. These tickets are cash only, and all members of your party must be present to purchase. Questions? Elf: The Musical is produced by the Empire Theatre Company (ETC), the only professional theatre company in the state of North Dakota that produces a full season of productions. Founded in 2012, our goal is to develop and grow new audiences for theatre with the creation of excellent contemporary plays and musicals, particularly works that have never or rarely been produced in North Dakota.

ETC contracts with local, regional, and nationally-based professional actors to produce a season of four or more full-length productions each season. Our season runs from August through June each year. ETC is the resident theatre company of the historic Empire Arts Center, where all productions take place.
