A Sensory-Friendly Nutcracker Experience
The North Dakota Ballet Company is proud to present a special sensory-friendly performance of The Nutcracker Extravaganza, thoughtfully designed for individuals with sensory processing and other special needs. This inclusive experience invites families with children with sensory needs to enjoy the magic of the holiday season in a welcoming and relaxed environment.
To ensure comfort and accessibility, modifications include flexible entry and exit, adjusted lighting and sound levels, designated cozy areas throughout the lobby, additional staff support, and helpful pre-visit chat before the show. The lobby will also have break areas for coloring and activities if children need to leave the theater at anytime if they are feeling over stimulated in the theater.
